[Stats] These Are The Days of Our Blogs

I'm curious to find out if other people's food blog stats are as cyclical as ours-- we tend to have a spike in traffic towards the end of every work week and then a slight decline on the weekend. Monday picks back up again, and it starts all over. Is this behavior similar to traffic patterns in other people's food weblogs too, or is it just ours?

I see the same pattern in my stats. Tuesdays for some reason seem to be the busiest day! Go figure.

I've found that's typical for most web stats, probably due to the large population of people that are on the internet all day long during work hours. I'll bet you'll find a sharp drop off after the work hours, averaging for time zones.

I'd expect relatively high traffic during dinner hours, as people look up recipes, but I don't see that in my stats.

I have noticed relatively the same! Pretty interesting!

I find I get the most hits on Mondays, by a long shot. Then again, I also dont usually post on weekends, which may cause that.

I also have noticed that the time of day I post can really cause spikes. If I post at 8 am I get way less hits than if I post at 6pm (and yet, I post in the morning, since stats really dont matter to me.)

I've noticed the same. Fridays and weekends peak. The New Orleans tragedy, I dipped over the weekend. And most of my visits are between 2pm and 6pm Australian Time.

My weekends are definitely at about 2/3 my normal traffic. My best days seem to be Tue-Wed-Thu for some reason.

I did post on weekends for a while, but found it didn't make any difference for the traffic. Now I take the weekends off.

I've been watching the stats lately too, and 6 pm every day is my busiest time. I don't get that - for two reasons. 1) You'd think people would be cooking, instead of surfing my site, unless they're getting recipes and 2) Everyone I know that regularly reads my site (and this is only the percentage that actually tells me) reads it first thing in the morning. I'm also obsessed with my BlogTopSites ranking. I haven't been able to figure out what the different figures they post means, but always look at what number my position is. Top 10 today!

My stats are the same as well -- high during the week and almost nil during the weekends. Personally, I try to look at my stats only once a week, otherwise, I get disappointed with the figures and then I lose sight of just why I started the blog in the first place -- which is an outlet for me to write about food. The people visiting my site are a plus.
