[Homework] NewVoices

Heres a little challenge for you... post/link to someone new.

Find a new food/wine blog and post a little link - add to your blog roll even (and when was the last time that was checked for dead links and updated?) New bloggers always need a little boost. It doesnt have to be a full review just a nod will do and a way to say hello. And it just has to be new to you, not just a new blog.

I stumbled across a new food/wine blogger in the UK just today - http://www.spittoon.biz/archives/newvoices_cuisine_de_pompey.html which prompted this posting.

As an aside, hows-about tagging, if you do tag of course, the post with 'newvoices'.

Excellent assignment. I'm long overdue for a blogroll update and intend to do it later this week. I'd tag it too, but I still can't figure out how to make Technorati & MT work together, alas. :-(

Nice idea! I've been meaning to update my links for several months - this is a good kick in the pants!

Mrs D - by MT do you mean movabletype?

Andrew -- yup. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't get the technorati icon to appear on my blog, and my attempt at installing a plugin to convert MT tags to technorati tags failed miserably. I'm afraid I'm rather a bozo in this dept.

I think this is an awesome idea! I posted about one of my favorite food blogs...but the blog roll will have to wait until later in the week. Thanks for reminding us all to do a bit of housekeeping!

Great idea, Andrew!

Ack! No more new food blogs! I can't keep up!

Just Kidding. I'm always amazed at how many food bloggers are out there, that have been doing this for awhile, and have yet to be "discovered".

I've been having Technorati trouble too (with MT), but I'll admit I'm not working very hard on it, since I'm planning on swapping my engine to Wordpress.

Mrs D - if you could email me direct with what you are trying to do (is it tags or a technorati link?) and I will be pleased to help. spittoon AT andys-scribblings DOT co DOT uk

Well, I found two new blogs that I like today: Orangette and Delicious Day. I've linked to one in a current post, and I've put them both in my links.

Thanks for the idea, Andrew.

Andrew! You only have four links on your page--or are the rest just really well hidden? What's up with that?

Hey there--I just added ten new food blogs to my blogroll this week. Does that count? I'm in love with every food blogger. I'm inundated with ideas for new recipes now.

And if anyone's looking for a new one, well, mine is http://glutenfreegirl.blogspot.com

Come check out tonight's risotto recipe.

Im always updating mine, because I am always looking for new ones to add. I find its just about the easiest thing (meaning the only one I can do) in my template.

Thanks for thinking of this!

Great idea. I just posted about 3 new (to me) food blogs I found yesterday.

I have put most of my 'regular reads' on the news page and not just a link either, oh no! but feed snippets no less ;-)

Since downloading onfolio I have added a ton of food sites to the built in feed reader - i find it a lot easier to store recipes in the collection part of onfolio (you can drag and drop) than in a normal folder but I have not yet had the time to combine all of these feeds into one display to add to the site.

My deepest apologies . . . your site is way more sophisticated than I'm used to. Good work!

Gee Andrew, look what you started! I not only updated my links, I redesigned my whole darned site. (and it's much prettier now, so thanks)

In the process I realized that my usual reads are less the "big names" and more off the beaten path--not that I don't read the top ten food blogs, but I am more intrigued by the less usual.

This is when I feel like the world's oldest dawg with all these new tricks. I just learned about Bloglines...and I found a bunch of new blogs by clicking through to other recommendations, as well as by seeing who is linked to me.

How cool is that?

I also found some new blogs from people putting their pin in the Food Bloggers Global Map. (Hint: it's easier to see everyone if you click "Message Board" at the bottom.)

Have you stuck your pin in yet?
