[Code/Help] Oops . . . I did it again

Once again, I have somehow managed to destroy the template of my blog--in IE at least. It's still fine in Firefox and Netscape. I know it's a margin problem and I've spent a LOT of time trying to fix it--to no avail. Is there anyone out there who can take a look at it and let me know exactly where the problem is? I will be eternally grateful (again). My blog is here:

The first problem is your h1 tag with the linked image is all malformed. The 'a' tag was missing the closing tag, and the URL was missing a quotation mark. IE chokes to death on stuff like missing quotes.

It should be:

≤h1 id="blog-title"≥≤a href=""/≥
≤img src="" border="0" /≥≤/a≥≤/h1≥

Obviously, change to proper brackets. Also re-paste in your image url, it was doing weird things to this comment. I added border="0", but I'm not sure if you wanted one or not.

I would suggest anyone who dabbles in their own HTML to use a syntax checker or validator. There are many out there, I use the one built in to BBEdit, the mac only choice for HTML work.

While many may think a religious adherence to validation isn't necessary, checking your code with these validators will greatly speed up debugging by finding small errors that are easyily missed.

Oops, forgot the second problem - your right sidebar floats down past the content window. You can easily fix this by extending the width of the entire content div (content width of 800px seems to work fine), so the sidebar floats to the right properly. You'll need to move your technorati tag up into the sidebar, or do some fancy clearing to place it properly.

You owe me a cookie.

I owe you a lot more than just a cookie--how about a whole dessert platter? I was trying to replace my usual blogger title with a nifty banner and I didn't really know how to do it, so I experimented. Actually, I experimented a few times as I tried to get the banner to be a link back to my home page (haven't succeeded in that yet) and I think during my tinkering process I mucked it all up (obviously). Thanks so much! I have BBEdit lurking somewhere in the bowels of my Mac and will use it religiously from now on.
