[Domain Names]

Hey everyone:

I've been reading many posts here that reference buying a domain name, at least obliquely. I'm thinking about buying one (mostly because everyone over 35 looks at me blankly when I say the "blogspot" part of my address), but I don't know how, where, or for how much. Any words of advice?

  1. I bought mine (www.sweetnicks.com) last week from Domain Direct (www.domaindirect.com). Once you see their site, you'll see how simple it is. It cost me $34 for 2 years and I can have it go directly to my blog. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions. Hope this helps!

  2. www.GoDaddy.com works well, although I find their site annoying. $9/year.

  3. I use 000domains.com. A friend who does a lot of web work recommended it and so far, so good!

  4. I registered professorsalt.com on Yahoo for $5. I've got it set up right now so the DNS info points to professorsalt.blogspot.com

  5. Hey y'all. I read Sweetnicks' comment before the others and registered with Domain Direct. I found it a little confusing at first, because I couldn't figure out how to do domain forwarding. But I emailed the tech support guys, and I got an email back from one who not only fixed it for me, but he's been coming back to read my blog!

    Thanks for the advice, everyone.
