Food bloggers who cook with their kids
Does anyone know of a list/directory of parents who have food blogs where the kids are involved in the cooking? The release of my cookbook has unfortunately coincided with a badly broken arm which totally hosed my plan to spend the last few weeks doing research and carefully targeted offers of review copies. (and I told my publisher that I was writing those email messages, not them!) Three shattered bones later, I am in too much pain to do all that clicking and am trying to streamline the process.

I cook with my son all the time. Not much of it makes it on my blog, but I love kid friendly recipes. We have a 'learning tower' to help him get up to the counter. he's almost three,and is starting to use a wooden knife.

ReplyDeleteI've never run across such a list, sorry. I can say Monkey Wrangler (stay-at-home father of 2 small children) cooks every day with his children and they make it online quite a bit.

With your broken arm, you need a copy of "The One-Armed Cook" which is basically a book for new parents cooking with a baby on their hip....or while talking on the phone, having a glass of wine, or, in your case, a broken arm! www.theonearmedcook.com

ReplyDeleteJoining in a bit late, but if you are still looking, have you thought about homeschooling blogs? I haven't come across any food blogs where posts regularly involve children cooking. On my own dessert blog, I've mentioned our son cooking a few times including when he baked bread, but it's not a regular feature. He does love to cook with us though.

ReplyDeleteI have a lot of pictures of my 3-year-old helping me cook and she is getting pretty good at it too (up to cutting vegetables with steak knives, learning basic recipes). A good stepstool is a must. The tag "photos-family" includes all the cooking pictures.
