Making a full feed a half feed

I have a question that I think is impossible to solve but it is worth asking in case someone knows a solution. I use the short rss feed on my Blogger blog because of constant content theft but I would like be able to make a longer rss feed that is not a full feed. So now I wonder if there is some kind of html code I could put in the text that would cut a full feed into a half? Or some other way maybe?

    Ilva, I don't have a solution for you, but I'm slightly appalled that your short feed doesn't stop content feed: I was thinking of switching to the short feed, to stop theft - but there's not much point if it doesn't work. Can you elaborate a little?

    No no, it works well, it's just me who want a feed in between full and short. no content scraping with the short one! So don't worry!

    As far as I know, there is no in-between with blogger... it's either the whole thing, or just a short character snippet. I think to get something in-between you need self-hosting/wordpress.org.

    I have been inquiring about this also to a couple of blogging experts, so if I find out anything I will let you know.

    I agree though, the short feed definitely stops the scrapers. Very worth it for me to have short feed, but if I could determine where the feed stops that would be even better.

    I was under the impression there are plug ins for truncated feeds... isn't there a blog post somewhere that does it for blogspot, I think there is. (Sorry I don't know where to find it though! Check blogger help, I found it once but it sounded complicated so I uh, stopped reading.)

    Ilva - let me look into it for a bit - and please email me (you have my email) to remind me/bug me to do it. But I think I could write a yahoo pipes script for you that would take a full RSS feed and cut off after whatever number of characters you specified. You could then have feedburner etc point to THAT feed.
