I finally figured out how to get Google to search my site, BUT I still can't figure out how to get it to search the archives. I'm sure it's a basic code change, but I'm just too html-challenged. Will someone please help me? Thanks!
I am not certain, but it may not be to do with your search button, it maybe more to do with what your google status was at the time you published the posts that are now in the archives.
For example, if you weren't listed in google when the posts were published, then they wont show up in a search?
On my site, google seems to be very haphazard in the way it lets me search for stuff. Maybe republish your entire blog will update everything and ping google?
Again - i could be talking out of my nether region - I have all these theories about stuff and I am not sure how many of them I simply make up to suit my own world view of how the internet must work.
I got part of the problem figured out w/ some help over on Blogger Forum - taking out the "www" from the url enables google to search more than just the main page. But it seems google has hapzardly, as you put it, cached my permalinks, so I don't get as many as I expect to. It may just be a matter of time? I think I will wait a few more months and then try again. I hope you don't mind my saying - I'm glad it's not just me! Thanks so much!
You guys must be way ahead of me...I'm still waiting for google to recognize my site :( Any suggestions? I signed up but still have yet to see Mona's Apple show up....
