The result was I lost the all the uploaded photos in the published post.

I'm not aware of any information on this drafts thing but I'm wondering what happened and what to do in the future.

This is the only thing I can think of but when you delete a post with photos in it, blogger asks you to unclick those photos you don't want deleted from Blogger servers.
So if your deleted drafts contained photos that are also in your existing posts they will also be removed. It's important that you unclick the photos you want to keep when deleting drafts or posts.
