woppy-jawed fonts in Blogger

Okay, I'm trying to practice patience with Blogger. Really. But it has been freaking out and breaking down lately, and causing me more trouble than I'd care to say. For example (and this is where I need your help), my post on September 24th.

I put the entire text in Georgia normal size, which is my template standard. I even typed it into the blogger box, where I normally write in a word processing document and copy it in. Everything seemed normal. But there are three different fonts and three different sizes in one post. And no matter how many times I go back and try to fix it, make it all one font, it stubbornly remains woppy-jawed.

HELP!

Hi Shauna,

I think your issues are coming from these tags in your post - (I replaced the <> with []

[span style="font-size: 130%;"][span style="font-size: 100%;"]

If I put your post in bloggers editor, switch it to edit HTML instead of compose and take them out it appears how it should on your site to me.

Hope that makes sense!

Rachael: That's exactly what I was worried about! That someone would think I meant that. It would be okay if the larger words meant something for emphasis, but they weren't. But hey, if I made you laugh, that's okay.

Joe: I tried that, and it solved the most egregiously large errors. Thanks. I still have to figure out why this is happening, though.

I agree, this is one of the many bugs with blogger. I've had a similar problem a couple of times. When it happens to me I do what Joe suggested, go into edit html and then look for multiple font sizes on top of each other. I have no idea how they get there in the first place. If anyone who uses blogger knows what I'm doign wrong in the first place to get all those multliple fonts in there I'd love to know

I was also trying to figure out the meaning of the fontSize...sort of like reading runes, but not...

Glad Joe's a blogger user and could help. I've noticed that Typepad also sometimes tweaks out when you change the font size, the fix is pretty much the same: hunt down the errant font tags...

The more you play with it in the compose window the worse it get's (in my experience) Go through the html page and remove EVERY TAG you will find them at the "Woppoy points"
You can also try downloading a code editor that highlights html code so it will be alot easier to find the tags

I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination but I think your problems might be solved if, when you cut and paste, you do it in edit html mode instead of compose mode. I might be mistaken, but I would think that doing it in html mode would prevent Blogger from inserting codes.
