[Tags] Why do they tease me so?

I am stumped as to why when I cut and paste the technorati tag for IMBB "Trick Someone Into Eating Vegan" from Sam's post into my post (and just to double check, todays post which was vegan anyway) it doesnt work. I mean, it doesnt come up on technorati.

I claimed! I pinged! I refreshed! I didn't change any of the code! I even emailed them (technorati) a few days ago, but haven't heard back. Sigh. Any thoughts? I'm not so concerned about the roundup as just not being able to get the dang tags to work. It all seems so simple...and yet...

I am sorry this methos doesn't seem to be working for a small handful of people, because otherwise it would be the perfect roundup method.

Did you republish your post before the ping?
that is the only further thing I can think of trying.

Thanks for this discussion. It would be a great problem to get to the bottom of for the future of IMBB.

Any ideas, suggestions, alternatives, solutions greatly appreciated. If I have time next week i will try and conduct a poll on this site to see what softwares had the most problems with the technorati method.

I thought blogger was ok, but Rachael uses blogger i believe, so bang goes my theory.

I have to point out that I love it as a round up method...getting a sneak peak is fun...

Should I try to add the www?

When I look at the page (my post) the link is there, and when I click on it, it does take me to everyone elses posts on technorati...so I figure it works to some extent...

I tried republishing too, to no avail...

And yes, I do use blogger...

Funny, I just went to check technorati, and though my post did show up after I posted it, it's not in the round-up now. Somehow Technorati has misplaced it. Quite mysterious!

Sam? Do you think the problem is only with Mac users????

mrs d you are still there - but on page 3 because you were one of the first.

rachael - i dont see why but it is something to consider.

My post did not show up either, and I use a PC, and Typepad; it's strange, my site always showed up before I claimed, and it seems as if now that I claimed it, it isn't showing up. Even if I type in the name of my site or one of my set tags, it doesn't come up. Also, when I click on the tag at the bottom of my post, it takes me to the other posts, just as someone else stated.

Other than the problems a few of us have had, it really does seem like a good idea, and probably a lot easier for the host(ess).

I wonder if the solution for round-ups might be rojo.com

Pim is using it and it seems to be pretty great...

I use Typepad, placed the code correctly, pinged, claimed, and reposted. I thought for sure I would list. This was such a good idea. I'm certain that I've done something incorrect!

I signed up for rojo a month or 2 ago and it didnt resonate with me.

i wish there was a google something

rachael - did you email technorati and tell them

it would be good if everyone for whom this method failed shoot them an email to see if we cant get to the bottome of the problem

Ive emailed them before and they were very nice!

Sam,
Ive emailed three times and not heard back...one theory is that they got my email and fixed it (could that be?)...

spose i guess that could be it as well.
oh why does everything have to be so complicated.
well the first part of the roundup is up on my site today

I've heard from other sources (technology blogs with high traffic) that Technorati has been unreliable for the last few months - they say they haven't lost anything but in the course of making improvements they are not always improving things (or something like that). Anyway I think that means that somewhere in their tracking databses they have the information but they aren't reliably dishing it up.
