Facebook Blog Network

.
So for all of you on Facebook (hi!)...are you familiar with the Blog Network application? Are you using it? What is the point?

It just seems like an RSS feed right to my FB page...is that about right? And does that mean I have to befriend anyone who wants to look at my blog? Or, is it just for my friends to look at anyway...

And what other applications are you using on that site for your blog?

Just curious!

Mwoah!

it posts a thread of my blog posts directly on my Facebook page. no need to do anything else. when someone looks at my page they see the headline and first sentence or so in the thread of notes.

My problem right now with connecting my blog and FB is that there seem be many different methods and they get redundant. For example, a lot of my friends use the Blog Network. But you can also set up your Notes to post an rss feed of your blog as well. Also, you can set up a Group for your blog or a Page for your blog. None of these ways, in my opinion, are really effective at promoting your blog, especially with the new FB layout and the way everything's hidden away now. But I figure most people are following the link from my blog to my FB page and not the other way around anyway!

Anita, you link to your FB from your blog?

Do you encourage your blog readers to seek you out on FB?

I have a link on my blog in the sidebar to my facebook page as well as others. Also every new post gets put on FB as well.

Rachael,
Yes, I do, although my profile is set to private so people can't see anything until they friend request me and I accept it.

I don't mind my readers FB friending me, as long as they tell me they came from my site. I've adjusted the privacy settings on my FB profile so people in my "Blog" group don't have access to all my personal info. Also, if people friend request me and don't leave a message about who they are or why they want to friend me, I do ignore it. So far the number of random strangers asking to friend me hasn't been that high - if my blog ever gets so popular that I'm overwhelmed with FB requests I guess I'll remove the link!

I also have a link to my FB Dessert First Page, where anyone can become a fan.
