Food Blog S'cool Template

I decided to give FBS an official new-style blogger template.
A few good things have come out of this:
1) The list of members has replaced the member blog links. This means I don't have to update links by hand and that the list will always be current and actually only include people who did actual sign up (the previous links included people who asked to be signed up but never actually got around to completing the sign up process which was difficult for me to track).
2) I can add blogger widgets like the poll I am currently testing out.
3) Adding labels should work properly now - so please add relevant labels whenever you post.
4) The Google Search is working properly now it would seem - so no need for me to archive past posts into a library.

On the downside:
1) I can't get the recent comments widget to work. I'll keep trying.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts/opinions/comments/etc regarding these changes, bearing in mind FBS is something I would prefer mainly looks after itself rather than needs a great deal of babysitting from me.

Image Source Links Won't Work

Does anybody have photo links in their blogger sidebar using photos you've uploaded through blogger?

This is my problem:

I have several photos/images in the sidebar on my blog, Farmgirl Fare, that link to various other sites. The top three jpeg images in the current sidebar were all uploaded last year by me through Picasa's Hello (which no longer works).

I would upload the image, save it as a blog post on a separate non-public blogger blog that I have, open the post, click on the image to enlarge it, and use that url in the "img src" part of the link.

I now upload my photos directly through blogger. I want to use fresh images for some of my sidebar links, but the img src links won't work. The image urls themselves do work, however.

I have no idea why this would be.

I don't know if this will help, but here is an example of an image link (taken from my Farmgirl Fare template) currently in my sidebar that does work: (I had to remove some of the <>, plus the end part with /a> because otherwise it put the actual image link in this post; I also split up the code here)

All I got in the template preview and on the actual blog was a red x-ed out square where the image should be.

Okay, duh. I forgot about View Source. If you open it up on my Farmgirl Fare and go about 3/4 of the way down, you can see two other attempts I made a few months ago to add new photo links at the top of the sidebar. The same thing happened as today, but I just left them there with that ! code thing so they wouldn't show up.

Any idea what is going on? If you have image links in your blogger sidebar but didn't upload/save the images on blogger, where did you put them?

I use Windows XP, IE 6, and the new blogger. I'm also an html beginner and get confused by technical talk pretty easily. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

New Blogger for Scaredy Cats?

getting my old css template into new blogger's template

i cannot seem to figure out how to integrate my old blogger template, a highly modified version of one of blogger's standard templates, into the new blogger's template. i have tried copying and pasting the code, but when i try to add those little widgets, it doesn't seem to work. i'd really like to be able to use the new features :( am i missing something?

any help would be so very greatly appreciated!

This error is driving me crazy - anyone else having issues with it too?
It's popping up randomly all over the place and making it difficult for me to access old posts and archives.
Going to report it to the engineers...

505 error sucks too - they say they've fixed it but it just caught me out and I had to rewrite this post.

[New Blogger] How do I reset the "edit posts" page?

I too have switched to the new blogger...

I am trying to give labels to my posts, but am finding it frustrating. I set the "edit posts" page to show 300. When I click "older," it shows the next 50, not the next 300. Then I click on a post to add labels and post, but when I do, it brings me back to my first 50 posts again. Does anyone know a way to set it to show 300 posts all the time?

And while Im at it...I am really loving these labels. Is there a way to make that label list that appears on my "edit posts" page actually show up on my blog?

[New Blogger] Sidebar issue

Since I switched to new Blogger, I've mostly been thrilled with it. However, there is one small issue that's driving me crazy. My blog looks fine in Firefox, but in Internet Explorer there is a small box after the right sidebar that should not be there. In the box is a word or a few letters which are the end of the phrase right above it (I have IE at home and school, two different versions, and they both look slightly different.)

I have looked and looked at my template and I don't see anything wrong. I recently removed the footer and I thought maybe I had removed a [/div] tag that should be there, but even when I add one in, it's still screwed up.

(BTW, it's impossible to preview your template in IE, from what I can tell. My blog does not display correctly when I hit preview, although when it's published it looks fine. The preview function works great in Firefox though, so if you're doing manual template editing I recommend using Firefox.)

If anyone who has IE on their computer would take a look and let me know if they see anything that might be causing this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

(Edit 1-31-07: I still haven't had any suggestions about what's causing this. I'd love to know what's doing it if anyone has any suggestions.)

Some of my friends that use explorer with pc (with mac no problems, just pc...) say that they do not see the header of my blog... And I'm afraid this problem is going on sice I switched to the new blogger, at the end of December...
