Subscriber List

I've had a minor uprising at my site, via email and comments, when I posted a message about the most recent newsletter I sent out (via email). I got a deluge of messages from disappointed folks that signed up, but didn't receive anything.

My web dude informed me that I need to upgrade to a heavy-duty subscriber service and suggested ymlp, which allows me to transfer email addresses from my previous list and is $10/month. (I use Movable Type.)

Anyone have any experience with this service or any others?

I didn't get the newsletter either!

You might want to look at

http://www.zookoda.com/

I know la.foodblogging.com uses it. It's free right now.

I recently switched from Bravenet to YMLP on the advice of Heidi (101 Cookbooks). I have since had no problems, am very pleased and definitely recommend them.

I was going to recommend xookoda too but Cybele has beaten me to it. I have been using it for several months now and it works fine.

It is supposed to be a set it and forget it service (I think. thats how i use it anyway) but every so often you have to go back in and reset the delivery frequency.

Its free at the moment.

Amy, what is the url for YMLP?

It's Your Mailing List Provider

http://www.ymlp.com/

the pricing varies depending upon how large the list is, I think there is also a free version

There is a free version but you can't have too many subscribers. Otherwise you pay based on how many names are on your list.

The good thing about ymlp is that you can import your old mailing list (the Premium version) and although the other one is free the features are rather limited.

I also have used Zookoda.com, but I know they're looking to sell early next year so I'm wondering how things will change once that happens. As far as paid services go Ymlp.com seems to be the most affordable.
