Blogger pictures, comments

Hi, is anyone having trouble publishing pictures and enabling comments on Blogger since May 18? Or is there something that I'm doing wrong?
I managed to bring the comments tab back after saving repeatedly manually (despite the new AutoSave feature) but am still unable to publish pictures directly.
I've just posted one through Flickr, more as a test post than anything else. Posting through Picasa didn't work as the picture later became invisible.

Sra,
There could be a quirk in the comment enabling. I've had to double-check Post Options to make sure the enabling boxes are ticked off. It happened today again, after something of a hiatus. I tick them manually, when I have to, right before publishing. It's part of my routine now. Separately, the new Auto Save feature is somewhat quirky, too.

Sorry can't help w/ your photo problem. Haven't had any issues...yet.

I posted photos yesterday with no problems, but I have noticed a couple of blogs where the comments were turned off. This happened to me (comments on a post were not enabled, although I hadn't changed anything) about a month ago, but hasn't happened again.

The comment thing is really bugging me - it has happened on the last 4 posts or so where it was automatically set to "don't allow" without me changing any of my settings.

I just had the same problem with comments on Blogger. They must be having an issue. You have to go into Post Options and check off to post comments - it is apparently automatically putting comments on "hide" and "don't allow comments". I guess we will all have to manually do it with each post until they fix it.

SO that's what it was! I was checking the template, cracking my brain trying to figure out the html codes (like I really know how to read html) to see if something went wrong somewhere. And all it is is that it's set to "don't allow" comments as default. Strange.

I'm able to make comments work after saving repeatedly but isn't anyone having trouble with publishing photos? (Misery loves company :( )
Could it be that my switching to a high-speed connection is affecting photo publishing - that coincided with this Comments and AutoSave business!!!

I haven't tried to post photos for the last few days, but have definitely had to make sure to manually enable comments before posting the last few times... kind of annoying, yeah.

I doubt switching connection speeds broke picture publishing. I did have a problem with my most recent pictures not showing up in Picasa immediately. It worked itself out- and it could have been a browser caching issue rather than something to blame Google for.

Joanna, I even tried publishing the pictures from another computer, different location, different connection, but it's not working. Before this, I never used the second computer to upload photos. Will the browser cache theory hold good for the second computer too?

You might try switching browsers, some times Firefox gives me trouble on Blogger, but IE will work.

Great stuff here. The information and the detail were just perfect. I think that your perspective is deep, it’s just well thought out and really fantastic to see someone who knows how to put these thoughts down so well. Great job on this.
