Plagued by Pop-Ups

I have two possibly related problems:

For several months now, everyone who visits my blog is plagued by predatory pop-up ads from ilead.itrack.it. These are horribly annoying, and some of them have contained graphic pornography, but in any case I don't want any ads on my site! Even Firefox cannot prevent them from opening. Can I get rid of them?

I have also learned that my site is blocked "because of content" on certain servers. Could this be because of the pornographic ads? I cannot imagine that anything I have written is the least bit controversial, not even a negative book-review. Most of the ads are not pornographic.

I am sure this must have been discussed before, but I could not find anything in the Blog S'cool archives

I suspect it's one of the site tracking bits you've put in there.

Sitemeter, motigo webstats or extreme tracking.

Try taking one out at a time to see if it gets rid of the pop ups.

It could also be that you have some kind of ad ware or spy program etc that has put it into your template. I found that something had been added in the template when I was blogging from a friends computer and when I downloaded Adsense and Spybot and ran them, thyy found a lot of ad and spy ware that I removed and then the problem disappeared. So it's worth checking out both what Cybele said and then run some programs like those above! Good luck!

Sorry to hear this is happening. I haven't ever had trouble with your site, but maybe that's because usually I'm clicking through from Bloglines. Hope you can figure it out.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The ads seem to have stopped once I removed one of the tracking things. Now I need to find out if the site continues to be blocked "due to content."

I wonder if its because your site name shows up as ??????????? because of the yiddish/hebrew characters and whatever program is doing the blocking is having problems with that

I don't think so--this is a recent problem. I also see that in the last ten days I have been dropped by google--I think a new query is needed.
