Greetings, first time commenter, and new to blogging (only 2 months). I just wrote a post about my thoughts on the movie. Basically, I fall into the "love Her" category. The idea of Julie Powell has made me a better cook. I feel challenged.

to read more of what I think,

I admire her for having a distinct POV when she began. That it all turned out the way it has is, well, just happenstance. Mostly I get a laugh from all the envy her success and attention seems to pull out of folks, some with more -but most with less talent.

This is my first time visiting your blog, so hi!

I also fall into the "Love Her" category; as cheesy as this may sound, her story definitely made an impact on my life, simply because she was an ordinary woman using food and a blog to better her life. I think that is something nearly everyone can appreciate.

Add me to the "wishing we could move off this topic" camp. Dead horse, anyone?

I just wrote a review of the movie Julie & Julia where I talked about Julie Powell (http://cookingschoolconfidential.com/?p=599) as well as the movie itself (including some culinary gaffes - oh noes!).

My feeling is she's gotten some rough treatment lately.

Hope that helps!

Cheers.

I loved Julie's concept, and she really was in the right place (blogosphere)at the right time-which was about 7 years ago, before the big FOOD BLOG BOOM. I love that she covered such a feat, and lived to tell about it. The movie however, was aweful.

I admired her challenge to cook every recipe from Julia's book. I didn't like her style of writing and got through only a third of the book before tossing it. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie.

i don't think it's about loving her or hating her, but maybe more about how the movie represented her, and how the blog really reads... very differently. i guess the target audience dictated that.

I am uncomfortable with a story on whether or not food bloggers love her or hate her. I hope the story is really about the food blogging community's opinion of the movie, not of the woman herself.

I agree with Jason and also with Anonymous.

That said, while I may not like her writing style, I have to admire the energy and determination she had when she started her JC project.

I truly don't understand the hate... I attempted to make Julie's bruschetta from the movie and it was soooooo good! http://chezdanisse.blogspot.com/2009/08/julie-julia-bruschetta.html

Maybe I'm too late to this but ... can I fall into the category of "hate her" only because I am green with envy? How many food bloggers would love to have their blog turned into a book, then into a movie? I think a lot of the "hate" boils down to outright jealousy.

As for the movie, I loved the "Julia" part but I didn't love the "Julie" part. Amy Adams' portrayal of Julie was sweet with an edge of poutiness. From the book and blog I was expecting acerbic with an edge of bitchy. (Come to think of it, I never did review the movie on my own blog...)

I now she's written another book about her marital infidelities, but I haven't read it so I can't comment one way or another.

In bag world, nothing beats lv
when it comes to quality. There are many other great designers out there who make great quality bags, but vuitton replica
is top of the range. 2. louis replica are easy to recognize because of their unique shape.
louis vuitton replica have a solid appearance and have firm curves and tend to be able to stand by themselves.
This partly comes from the design and also from the tough material they are made of.
