Making a full feed a half feed

I have a question that I think is impossible to solve but it is worth asking in case someone knows a solution. I use the short rss feed on my Blogger blog because of constant content theft but I would like be able to make a longer rss feed that is not a full feed. So now I wonder if there is some kind of html code I could put in the text that would cut a full feed into a half? Or some other way maybe?

Food Blogger Aniversary Calender Update

I had an idea I thought would be a fun way to support our fellow food blog authors. And help create a even closer community.

I started a calender for listing food blogger blogoversary dates. The date of your food blog's official launch or first post, is your blogoversary.

The calender will allow for clickable links in the description, so you can put your blog's title in the event title, and a description of your food blog, then any links you'd like such as : your blog's link, twitter account, face book page etc.

I also burned it through feedburner. So you can subscribe or use it to add to another feed you are aggregating on your sidebar etc.

I will set each event to continue to be celebrated yearly, so you will get updated every year.

I hope this can be something that is fun and usable for everyone . It gives another way to celebrate and promote your wonderful food blogs.

Until recently you would need to email me with your blog info, but I have created a form in google docs that you can fill out to add your blog (alcohol /food /dining related blogs all are accepted):

Food Blogger Blogoversaries Calender

Hello all, this is my first post for S'cool and I would like to say thanks Sam for adding me.

Sorry I haven't been able to keep up with all of you and the foodie events around the blogosphere, but it is a goal of mine to be more apart of the food blogger community, once I have tackled some personal stuff going on right now .

I had an idea I thought would be a fun way to support our fellow food blog authors. And help create a even closer community.

I started a calender for listing food blogger blogoversary dates. The date of your food blog's official launch or first post, is your blogoversary.

The calender will allow for clickable links in the description, so you can put your blog's title in the event title, and a description of your food blog, then any links you'd like such as : your blog's link, twitter account, face book page etc. If you click on the image below, you can view an example calender event.



I used google calender to create it. It's easily searchable in the google calendar database. So your readers can follow all of their fav foodies. All public calenders are indexed by google.

You can view it by clicking this link - food blogger blogoversary. There is a small button at the bottom right you can click to subscribe/ add it to your google calender account.

You don't need to have a google account to view the calender, or get updates for upcoming or newly added food blogs :

Click on this link to subscribe with any calender that supports iCal format. Here is a list from wikipedia of apps that support iCAL.

Feed Woes

I was having an email conversation with the lovely Alanna this morning (you'll be glad to know she reminded me to correct a link on the side bar and re-add the calendar, and at the same time I also re-added the FAQ links as suggested a couple of weeks ago by Elise, which is all the house keeping for today)

Anyway, back to the FEED issue. Alanna made some comment about my feed being title only these days. And I was surprised. I am a big proponent of full feeds myself. She sent me a screen grab of my blog in her Bloglines and sure enough they were title only = not what I intended at all! In blogger my settings are all set to FULL. I went to feedburner and it was FULL there too. In google reader it is also FULL. Does anyone have any idea why my blog might not be showing up full in Bloglines? Do you read my blog in a feed reader - if so please let me know what it looks like to you and which reader you use. Thank you.

And whilst we are on the subject, please can someone explain this setting in blogger to me:

(Feeds) Bloglines Feeds Question

I have a question for all you web pros.

When I click on the Bloglines 'subscribe' link, 5 different feeds come up as options to add to my bloglines. There is also a random feed for an old post from August. What is up with that?? (see picture)


I'd like to narrow this down to just one feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/lxqk)

Does anyone know how to do this?? I'm totally confused. :S

Is there anyway to remove my Blog from their site ?

Hi everybody !

Few months ago I've notice many of my posts are featured in this site in the Food category I've wrote the site owner several times and asked him to remove my (Blog) and posts from their site and not to archive them anymore.
I've got an answer this week again :.."... then you need to switch it off.(your RSS)
...You submitted your blog for inclusion and it is included, we do not then remove blogs.By submitting your blog, you gave permission for it to be included..."
I realy can't remember me submitting my blog to their site.
Is there any way out ?

FeedBurner Integration for Blogger Blogs

A "By the way" for those of you who use Blogger as your blogging platform. Blogger is now integrated with Feedburner, so that if you want Feedburner to manage your feeds, it is now a very simple process to redirect your feed to Feedburner. See the details here .

Why bother with Feedburner? Feedburner gives you amazing stats on your feed - how many people actually subscribe to your feed, what feed services are pulling them (Bloglines vs MyYahoo vs Google Reader etc), how many people actually click-through your feed to your website, etc. Feedburner has an easy - "subscribe to feed using email" service, and many other services to help promote your feed.

[Blogger] Comments Feeds for FTP Blogs

I just thought I'd post this for anyone who uses Blogger on a remotely-hosted blog. I finally managed to get a comment feed enabled yesterday after having selected "Full" for the Comments feed months ago. It didn't work until yesterday, when I got the bright idea to change the No button by "Show Comments in Pop-up Window" to a YES. Once that was changed, my comments feed miraculously was published.

I'm not sure if this is an issue for blogspot blogs, but it definitely made the difference for me. I couldn't find this problem addressed anywhere else.

Just in case, I'll back up a little and set this out step by step:

1) Go to Settings, Comments, and select Yes by "Show Comments in Pop-up Window."

2) Go to Site Feed, and if you haven't already, choose Advanced Mode (or whatever isn't Basic Mode).

3) Choose Full by Blog Comment Feed.

4) Republish your blog.

5) Your comment feed will be at http://www2.blogger.com/feeds/YOURBLOGID#/comments/default . You will need to replace YOURBLOGID# with your blog's ID, which you can find in the URL anytime you are in the Dashboard. (You can also get it by looking at the comments on your blog and checking the URL in page info.)

Once you have the link to your comments feed, you can go to Feedburner and burn your new feed. Post a link to it in your side-bar or email it to all the readers who have been begging you for a comments feed!

RSS Refreshes When Re-Posting?

Does anyone know why, when sometimes I edit a post or edit the title of the post, it refreshes the RSS feed?

It only happens some of the time and I can't figure out what triggers it. I think it must be vaguely annoying to folks using RSS feeders when a post re-appears (albeit in corrected form.)
