[Links] for when you are bored...

I just thought it wouold be fun to play a little game to discover some new food blogs.

Here's how to play:

1) Pick a number between 1 and 20.
2) Head over to our new star pupil, S'kat & The Food's new home, umbrella-ed under her local newspaper and choose a food blog on her blog roll that you haven't heard of before, or are at least less fimilar with.
3) Visit that blog. (count that blog as number 1)
4) Then pick a blog on that blog's roll you are unfamiliar with and visit it. (Count number 2). Repeat and continue until you reach the number you first thought of.
5) When you reach the last blog (determined by that predetermined number) come back here and list the last blog you visited in the comments section of this post. Hopefully, then we should all have a nice list of new food blogs to check out.

I'll go first, Fred just picked the number 7 for me. Lets see where it takes me...

OK - I ended up on Biscuits & Blues and found seven other interesting food blogs along the way all of which have been dropped into my rss reader. I might have to play again...

Okay party-girl Mistress-Sam: I traveled around the world to Singapore to visit EatzyBitzy. I LOVE the creative names of blogs in general but especially food blogs!

I let Fred pick no. 7 for me, too, because Cranky would surely have said "37" or "172" or something, and that would have taken forever.
As it is, I got dead-ended onto a couple of blogs without blogrolls, and had to backtrack.
It was fun. I ended up in NY at The Girl Who Ate Everything, who also turns out to be The Girl Who Sam Met in New York for Her Birthday With a Bunch of Other Food Bloggers.
Wow. I hopped around the world and ended up in my backyard.

Ooh, this is fun. I chose four because I didnt want to get over indulgent, and I have to say I am mad Mad MAD for all of them now! My first choice was indulgent and delicious A Chicken in Every Granny Cart (Huh?), which led me to cheerful and lovely Pie in the Sky, and the exquisite Food Beam...at which point I got stuck because I read all of her links! (At least the ones in English)

Here are links for all three:

I picked a low number, but I still lost count.

This is the typical way I'd find new blogs for my list, but lately they've been finding me, so I haven't played this game in awhile.

I wound up at Food Bound, A Well Fed Network blog about food books.

I think we'll find after this game that new blogs with the cleverest names (like a Chicken in every Granny Cart) will get a surge of traffic as they find their way to everyone's blogrolls. Food for thought for those of you thinking about starting a new blog.

I went for 12 (bad idea, lots of backtracking) and eventually ended up at The Thorngrove Table in Berkshire.

I picked 5, also lost count, and plan to do this again -- what fun! I found some really neat blogs on my adventure -- many with links back to Sam and the regulars here. I ened up at Who Wants Seconds

Great suggestion. I found three new blogs, ended up at Esurientes, and added a new blog to my rss reader. Thanks! I think we should do this once a month ...

This game is not just for when you're bored. It also works very well for when you have a pressing writing deadline REAL SOON and want to do anything else! I decided I would favor blogs whose names I could not understand, since in mol araan is probably opaque to most anglophone readers, and
I chose 5, my favorite number of items to place on a plate:

I went to Nordjus,
Kuidaore,
Ono kine grindz, and finally came to rest at
Masak Masak. All new to me, all very worthwhile.
Back to work--or maybe just one more peek at Kuidaore.
