Flickr

I currently use pbase as my image hosting service, but am considering shifting over to flickr next year when my subscription runs out. I like the way things look over there, and the sociability/tags/etc appeals to me as well.

So to those of you using flickr- what are your thoughts on the service?

I like flickr a lot--image uploading is very easy (I use the flickruploader app which automatically resizes them), and I like the tagging/group aspect a lot. I am able to easily explore the photos of folks with similar interests and I enjoy the commenting system. I'm not flickr "pro"--I just use the free service and that's more than enough photo space for me, though you can only create 3 sets at a time.

I love flickr TO DEATH. I have a pro account, which leads to things like uploading 50+ photos of food in one day. Oops. It's easy to use and has a really good interface, not that it couldn't be improved, but I like it more than other things I've seen,

I've made some good foodie friends through flickr. Food catches attention really easily. ;)

I like it a lot. I began with the free version and upgraded to pro which suits me fine! Easy to upload and good resolution of the pics. You get a lot of feedback through the groups and you get to see so many nice pics. There's a lot of talent out there! Tell me when you start so that I can add you as a contact!

I too LOVE flickr! I ditto everything everyone has said here so far.

Lots of seriously great people there and most are honestly interested in photography.

I am "pro" and love it. Its worth it.

Count me in as another who loves flickr. I, too, started with the free account and then ended up switching to pro. No problems with it at all. My only suggestion for flickr is that it would be nice to be able to add pictures to group sets. Meaning, if I load a picture of cookies, I'd like to get it into all the appropriate pools all at once, instead of one at a time. Just a time efficiency thing...

I just started flickring and have been recommending people to switch to this image sharing site... the interface is just so much more user-friendly especially to those who will be viewing it. For those that have only so much time to spend, it's a breeze to browse through the pictures and only click on the ones that really interest you for details.

another Flickr lover. I have made some really great friends on Flickr -- not to mention I love love love their site. Down time is few and far between, the groups and people are a lot of fun. I would highly recommend it. :o)

Such glowing reviews! As much as it will an incredible pain in the ass to switch over all the photos- not to mention the links on the blog- I may yet do it.

Thanks, peoples!

Flickr works well...I just don't believe in the "Pro" accounts as properly resized photos don't take up a lot of room.
