Lucette - I was having a similar problem on Blogger two days ago. I tried uploading pics several times through the "compose" page under posts. Each time, no pic was posted and I could not see the pic in the html either. I know that Blogger has been having issues with this - but I don't believe there has been a viable solution to it yet.
To get around this, I posted last night using a "trick" from Photobucket. I created a stamp (I believe that's what it's called) and inserted the html for it directly into my post with no problem. It's not the way I really wanted to post my pics, but it kept me from going crazy!

I have loaded over 3000 pictures to blogger in 2+ years and apart from the odd glitch here and there i have never had a much of a problem.
I use Picasa and load up the pictures using Hello, I load up all my pictures to a separate different dedicated blog and then simply cut and paste the url of the picture into my post template.
it only takes a few seconds and couldn't be easier.
Sam has it right -- it really is simple to use Hello to upload pics (I upload to a signified 'test blog') and then copy and paste the HTML code into my actual post. Works well when blogger is acting up and you dont want to wait for it to fix itself.
I have been facing the same problem Lucette for over 2 months now. SO when blogger uploading works I use that, or else I upload onto Photobucket.com and then copy paste the URL- you can then resize the picture from the 'compose' mode.
It's good to know it isn't just me. The most peculiar thing was that I could download photos on some blogs and not others (I post on 4). I think I'm going to try Hello or Photobucket so I'll have a backup, as Nandita says.
I've been having the same trouble...my solution was to post in Internet Explorer without the pic and then open my page in Firefox to upload pics.
Uploading pics wasn't working in IE and creating links never works in Firefox, (if I create a link the entire post goes kaput) so I just have to switch back and forth...

I had the same problem recently, as did other blogger users. Apparently some of their servers are malfunctioning.
If you keep trying and get lucky enough to connect to a good server, it will work. It took four tries for me!
