Recently, I've been uploading photos to blogger using the little picture icon in the tool bar, and for no apparent reason, blogger will randomly "flip" one of the photos in the wrong direction. For example, I'll have a horizontal shot of a steak, but it will load onto the blogger page vertically. If this has happened to you, how have you fixed it? My techie husband fixes them for me after I publish my post, but I don't like having to republish. Can I prevent this flipping in the first place? Thanks!

Hey julie - i have never experienced this.
what software do you use initially to load the pictures onto your computer?
some software (like Picasa for example) automatically rotates the pictures for you - so you see them rotated as you would expect when using your image managing software, but *really* they are not actually rotated and I wonder if it has something to do with that.
How does your husband fix it? (Maybe if he explained that we could suggest something that would allow him to do something similar before you actually load the pictures)
do you have a mac or pc?
if you have a pc I would recommend picasa and hello since I know that method works and doesn't rotate the pics.

Hi Sam,
I remember reading one of your old posts about using Picassa and Hello, and I think I will check them out. Right now I'm using Zoom Browser which came with my computer I think. I have a PC. My husband saves the rotated pictures off the internet back onto our computer and can somehow fixes them with our software (not sure of the more technical aspects). I certainly could have him do that before I post or learn to do it myself, but I was hoping there might be a solution. I thought blogger was doing the rotating, but maybe it is my software. I'm going to try Picasa, and see what happens, otherwise I'll get him to teach me to fix my weird rotating pics on my own. Luckily, I'm not totally illiterate when it comes to this stuff, it just doesn't come naturally! Thanks for your help.
if you have a PC - then i definitely recommend trying picasa - you shouldnt have the problem with that.
let me know if you have any picasa questions in the future
cheers
sam
