Does anyone know how I can get the comments to expand on posts so they show on the same page when you click on them like they do on this blog, rather than a pop-up box or new page?
Beware the bit they don't tell you. Before you can put the expansion code into a post, you must be at 'base' level, i.e. you can't do it inside a div or table or span, etc.
This means that using the post template as in step 3 won't always work.
To resolve this, close the tag that you already have, put in the span id="fullpost" tag and then restore your div, table, etc. Don't forget the final span.
I could be wrong, but I think you can just change this in Blogger Dashboard under settings/comments if you don't want anything quite as complicated as Trig is describing.
(Trig, I'm impressed but I don't understand most of what you said.)
That doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for Trig - that's for condensing and expanding posts but I want the actually comments on the same page as the post.
What I'm saying is, click NO to the Pop-up window. That will make the comments on a page with the post, like Food Blog S'cool has it. Which is what you want, right?
When I click on 'no' to show comments in a pop up window, the comments appear on a separate page all on their own with a box to add a new comment, they don't appear underneath the original post.
Okay, I see. Somehow Sam has the comments link set up so that it takes you to the individual post page with a bookmark at the comments section. Since I can't see the FBS template, I'll have to look around Blogger to see if I can figure out how that's done.
Nika, I wish I had time and courage enough to migrate!

Kalyn is right. In your Dashboard, under Comments, click the No button by "Show Comments in Pop-up Window?"
The comments in pop up window doesn't actually show the comments on the same page as the post though, which is what I want.
Thanks very much Trig, I'll check that out :-)

Is this what you are looking for? A widget?

Thanks Karin but no, that's not it either.
You know when you click on 'comments' on a post on this blog, the comments appear underneath the post? That's what I want.
If you click on 'comments' on my blog they show up in a pop-up window.
Ok. I have seen something like that being discussed here Comments on Main/Archive Page (Peek-a-Boo) in Blogger BETA

Hi Susan

Julia - sorry, I didn't read your original request carefully enough. You might find it helpful to post your question on the Google help group site.
