Switching from Typepad to Wordpress

Has anyone had any luck or major problems with switching from Typepad to Wordpress ? I am looking to switch in the next month or so and was looking for the pros and cons of it. My blog is less than a year old so I do not have a lot of content to switch but I would hate to lose any of it.

I switched mid last year, and was able to do so without any content loss. However, I wouldn't exactly desrcribe it as easy. There was a lot of messing with databases. You defintely want great backups of everything you touch. The files can be pretty big, depending on how much content you have, and how you've stored your images. I think one of the things that made it easier for me to move was the fact that I host most of the images on my site on Flickr.

All that said, I'm really happy I made the move because I like to have complete control over the layout, etc. of my site.

I've made this same switch with no problems.

I believe there is an extensive discussion in the archives.
