(Blogger) Sidebar Issues

Today, yet again, my sidebar is not only dropped, it's centered after it's dropped. I know sometimes the size of pictures can cause this, but yesterday it was fine before I posted, and then after I posted last night (with no pictures added), it dropped. Anyone have any ideas on something I might be missing?

I am far from an expert on these things, but at the bottom of your sidebar you have a list of websites that have referred visitors to your site during the last 24 hours. All but one of these is presented by name instead of by URL, but there is one extremely long URL near the very bottom (i.e., the one that begins with http://mail.wildmail.com...).

My guess is that the browser is not able to break this URL midstream and wrap it around to a new line, so it has no choice but to keep it all on one line and to drop the sidebar down to the bottom of the page. And although the sidebar may appear to be centered, I think it is actually moved over to the left only as far as needed to allow the last character of the offending URL to stay within the right margin of your page. If you can get rid of that URL - or wait until tomorrow when that URL will presumably disappear (provided there are no more referrals from that site!) - your problem may be resolved.

I was going to suggest the same thing - the long link in the referrer list. I have noticed that the Fresco site shows you how to make everything fit on their layout page. You might want to give that a try. Good luck!
