Have you been tagged as a Spam Blog?

I have been treated recently to profiling by Blogger. Every time I want to do a new post they force me to do codeword verification because they seem to think that my blog is a spam blog.

I have to now submit my blog for review by someone at Blogger before they release me from the codeword verfication magilla.

Anyone else have this happen to them? I wonder how my blog could possibly be considered a spam blog, boggles the brain.

It has happened to my recipe index blogs, probably because I post (read update) so seldom and that obviously is the spammy way to blog! So maybe they thought you weren't updating often enough to be a serious blogger? How wrong they are! But after some weeks I got a mail that said they checked it out and that it was ok.

yes - i have had the same experience as Ilva. I'd rather go through this little amount of discomfort if that is what it takes to keep the real spammers away.

ok, then I am in good company :-)

One's ego doesnt thrive on being called a spam blogger *winks*

Wonder if this method even really works.

I thought I had reset some setting and so I have not done a thing about this for months.

How did you find out that they consider you a spammer? This happened to one of my blogs, but I just assumed it was a routine security thing they added.

Happened to us, too. One of the reasons we decided to ditch Blogger and move to WordPress, in fact.

it is very simple to fix - just respond and they will check you out, see you are not spam and take away the word verification.

Non blogger blogs seem to have far more spam problems than blogger ones.

Since it is not obvious, this is what you do to stop the word verification:
when it happens you will see it says:

Word Verification: ?

click on the little orange and white ? symbol for: [More Help]

Then a new window will open with the following instructions:

Your blog requires word verification

Blogger's spam-prevention robots have detected that your blog has characteristics of a spam blog. (What's a spam blog?) Since you're an actual person reading this, your blog is probably not a spam blog. Automated spam detection is inherently fuzzy, and we sincerely apologize for this false positive.

Before we can turn off mandatory word verification on your posts we'll need to have a human review your blog and verify that it is not a spam blog. Please fill out the form below to get a review.

so then you fill out the form and a few days later blogger will stop thinking you are a spam blog and will return you back to normal with no word verification necessary.
