[blogger] continuing beta switching confusion

From one of our new pupils:

Thanks so much for the invitation to join Food Blog Scool.
I'm on the new version of Blogger and when I tried to sign up to the scool it couldn't find my user name, so I've had to create a new account on the old style Blogger.
Do you know if there's any way around this, as I'd much rather use my new blogger sign-in? I did have a look around on the scool to see if this had already been asked but couldn't find anything.

and from another want-to-be pupil:

Thanks for the invite and I would love to sign up.
However, I am having issues with the link. When I click on the link below it takes me to the blogger invite page where I have to sign in but since I have changed to Blogger Beta I then have to sign in a second time and it then takes me straight to my own blog rather than yours [FBS].

and this:
I did do what you've written, but still when I signed in with my blogger username, it didn't work. I wonder...

and on a slightly different note, but only slightly, some people still can't switch, and our little scool could be to blame?

Could not switch you to the new Blogger
Thanks for your interest in the new version of Blogger! Unfortunately, we cannot switch your Blogger account at this time, because one or more of your blogs cannot be moved.

any ideas anyone?

Mebbe I need to beat them about the head and shoulders with a pointy stick?

I would ask again and ask specifically for a reason why. Mebbe you'll get a response from someone who knows what they're doing and/or might be able to actually help.

I've gut the invitation today, but when I tried to switch my 3 Blogs to the new Blogger- the same error.. :-(

I do have an idea, but I don't think it's what you want to do: Switch S'cool to Beta. It's painless. Oh, wait, you might not have been invited to yet because of its size. Have you contacted anybody at Blogger? I have on other issues in the past, and actually received human responses.

Count me as another person who has tried to switch to New Blogger but been denied. I've tried about 4 times now, and I get the same message you quoted each time. That's despite having had the invitation for at least a couple of months.

I've had the invitation now for awhile (it comes and goes multiple times throughout a day) and each time I try it, I always get the denial message.

Poo!

I am one of those people to. O get the message to switch but when I try I get the third message "cannot switch one or more .. blah blah". I am sitting it out and waiting. I do believe it has to do with the fact that the Food Blog Scool is a large team blog and with many posts. But hey we're all gonna get to the new Blogger sooner or later.

My only recommendation would be to hold those new Scool members until the final switch, Sam. It's probably not the most comfortable solution but I think taking in more people would probably cause more delays. In the meantime try contacting them if at all possible.

Well, I guess misery loves company. I started getting the invitations to switch, located both on the dashboard and on the publishing status page, and no matter how many times I try to take them up on their offer, I get that same message: "one or more of your blogs cannot be moved." Of course, their help articles are worthless.
What are we supposed to wait for? I can't find any reason anywhere in the blogger groups as to why this is happening. They all tell you that if you get the invitation, you can switch. Apparently, many of us have learned that it's not so. AAarrrrgggghhhh.

I, too have had many invitations to switch...then been denied. Can't tell why. Plus, I have to keep logging in over to leave messages on my own blog. Blogger doesn't seem able to "remember me.

Very annoying.

Wow, I had no problem switching to new blogger. That was a breeze for me. That stinks that so many people are having issues with it!

But I did experience the problem registering with the scool - and I too created a new account because of it. Hopefully at some point I can use my new blogger log in here too . . .

It doesn't make sense that FBS would be preventing some people from making the switch. I switched with no problem, and am a member of a few team blogs. FBS and one other are still in old blogger format and didn't pose any problems. Wish I could offer a solution...

Sam graciously removed me from the FBS list and minutes later I could switch, whereas minutes before I could not. However...don't be in a huge hurry. It said everything migrated but 3 of my 5 blogs are still in the "old" format and I cannot use the new features I was so keen to try. My food blog, my largest by far, is still stuck in the old version. The only advantage is that I can easily see which posts have comments. (A nice feature since the email-when-comments-are-left feature seems to have gone to sleep a few months ago.)
PS: And this is now the second time I've tried to leave a comment. It flashes from here to some "you're on the new blogger" and then loses my comment.

Thanks for posting this Sam (guys I'm one of the new users having problems). I'll watch with interest.

My food blog is 300 and some posts..not very big. But I get the error message as well.

If you do a deletion list sam, put me on it. I personally am guessing that since FBS has so many posts, this is the reason I cannot do the switch. But -- for all I know, it could be something else. But I'd really like to make the switch someday. :)

Hi all, I'm new and just got the invite from Sam to log in, but I had the same problem as others have had - I'm on the new blogger, and when I sign in at my Google page, I'm taken right to my dashboard, with no option to log in at S'cool.
I'll keep checking in to see if this gets resolved...thanks!
